Kaplex Academy is a product of Kaplex Industries Inc. (“Kaplex”, “we”, “us”), a company incorporated in British Columbia, Canada (incorporation no. BC1599302), of 212–1939 Lee Avenue, Victoria, BC V8R 4W9, Canada. This policy explains what we collect when you use Kaplex Academy, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

What we collect

We collect the following to run the Service:

• Account information — the details you give us to create and access your account, such as your name and email address.
• Subscription information — the plan you’re on, your billing period, and your subscription status. Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor; we receive confirmation of payment and the details needed to manage your subscription, but we do not receive or store your full payment card number.
• Learning progress — the courses and lessons you access, your progress through them, and any questions or work you submit.
• Usage and technical data — standard information such as your IP address, browser type, and how you interact with the Service, used to keep it running and secure.

How we use it

We use your information to provide and operate Kaplex Academy: to give you access to the content you’re entitled to, to track your learning progress, to manage your subscription and billing, to communicate with you about your account and the Service, to keep it secure and prevent abuse, and to meet our legal obligations.

Payment processing

When you subscribe, your payment is processed by a third-party payment processor. Your card details are collected and handled directly by that processor under its own terms and privacy policy. Kaplex receives a record of the transaction and the information needed to manage your subscription — not your full card number. We are not responsible for the processor’s own handling of your information beyond what it does on our behalf to process your payment.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these situations: with service providers who help us operate the Service (our hosting and infrastructure providers and a third-party payment processor), acting under contract and only as needed; and where the law requires it, such as a valid legal request. If our business is ever sold or merged, information may transfer as part of it, subject to this policy.

Storage & security

Your information is stored with our providers using access controls and encryption in transit. Some providers may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to that country’s laws. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and limit access to those who need it to do their job.

Retention

We keep your account and learning records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, then delete or anonymize them, except where we must keep something to meet a legal obligation — for example, we keep basic records of your payments and subscription for the period our tax and accounting obligations require. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete the information in your account. To make a request, email info@kaplexindustries.com and we’ll respond within a reasonable time, free of charge.

Cookies

The Service uses only the cookies and local storage it needs to function — to keep you signed in, remember your progress, and keep the Service secure. We don’t run advertising trackers. If we ever add analytics, we’ll update this policy before we turn it on.

Children

Kaplex Academy is intended for adult learners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of majority in their province or state. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll remove it.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version, and we’ll tell you about material changes where it’s reasonable to do so.
